The Witcher: Season 3: Volume 1 (on Netflix from June 29)
The second season of The Witcher was released at the end of 2021. The memories of what happened may have faded with time and the news that the third season will be the last for Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. The second season wasn’t as funny as the first season and honestly struggled without the annoying viral song. It added kings, mages and monsters and an owl who is not an owl but a witch named Philippa to the universe, and ended up with all of them looking for Ciri. The third season seems to focus on Geralt’s continued quest to protect Ciri, which is said to be a fitting end to Cavill’s time as a mutant magic machine and hunter. /East Anna-Connell
I Kissed a Boy (on TVNZ+ from July 1)
What if Love Island…but gay? I Kissed a Boy is a new series that follows ten single men who meet for the first time and kiss to test their chemistry. After meeting their match, they are encouraged to get to know the other men in their beautiful Italian home – “Masseria” – and try a permanent relationship. Dannii Minogue has a crowd, which seems to be a very important thing for her to do. /Sam Brooks
Jack Ryan: Season 4 (on Prime Video from June 30)
Can you believe that not only is there a Jack Ryan series, based on the popular Tom Clancy’s character starring John “Jim from The Office” Krasinski, but its fourth and final season is about to drop on Prime Video? Well, believe it, because it’s true. What’s also true is that this season seems to exist entirely to be the driving force behind the impact series someone Tom Clancy’s most famous character named Ding Chavez, who will be played by Michael Pena. /SB

Flesh and Destruction: The Untold Story of American Gladiators (on Netflix starting June 28)
If you are a child, or perhaps an adult, of a certain age, you will remember American Gladiators, a show that saw some of the world’s greatest, most impressively dressed, athletes competing with each other and doing weekly exercises. after a week on TV. They were popular for a while, and I vividly remember meeting them (or maybe their UK counterparts) in the Auckland markets. However, the new five episodes tell the untold story of the rise and fall of the series, with the participation of many of the OGs, including Storm, Blaze, Laser, Sky and Tower (no real names). /SB
Party of Five (on Disney+ from June 28)
Two people I worry about more than I should: my housemate, currently three-thirds of the way through a complete re-watch of The OC, and a comedian who reruns old episodes of 7th Heaven on Instagram. What will they watch next?! In both cases I think the answer has to be Feast of Five, in which a family of five orphans ranging from 24 years to 10 months old (in the pilot episode) face every 1990s problem under the sun in one series. . One of the biggest games on television and today’s most overlooked youth drama. /Calum Henderson
Angel City (on Neon from July 1)
This article goes behind the women’s soccer team from Los Angeles, Angel City Soccer Club (led by Soccer Fern Ali Riley) founded in September 2020 by Natalie Portman, capitalist Kara Nortman and sports entrepreneur Julie Uhrman. It’s the largest women’s team in professional sports, and the series will raise the curtain on their inaugural 2022 season and show what it takes to build a franchise from scratch. So like Welcome to Wrexham, but not stupid. / SB

Run Rabbit Run (on Netflix from June 28)
Sarah Snook missing from your photos? Fortunately, Netflix has you covered with these psychological horrors. A fertility doctor (Snook) grows restless with her daughter’s claims that she has lived a past life, and tries to figure out what it is. Alice in Wonderland scenes, creepy children and troubled mothers run through the film, if the trailer is anything to go by. / SB
Charlie’s Angels and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (on TVNZ+ from July 1)
There’s no franchise I’ll stumble upon more than the Charlie’s Angels franchise, a more metal-clad capsule of the early 00s than ever. There are funny, funny, no-guns, and borderline crisis jokes that could see everyone involved get fired. They are really, really fun times. And now you can watch them for free! Thank you for your tax dollars. / SB
Bling Ring (on Neon from July 2)
Another thing I’ll leave with: Sofia Coppola’s underrated 2013 film about a group of celebrity-obsessed teenagers who use the Internet to stalk celebrities so they can take over their homes. It’s based on the brilliant Vanity Fair article ‘The Suspects Wore Louboutins’ by Nancy Jo Sales, and features what is arguably Emma Watson’s best performance. If you missed it for whatever reason, I recommend you give it a watch – it’s funny, it’s smart, and it’s a sobering commentary on mass culture. / SB
