Google Perspectives, the search filter unveiled at Google I/O that displays content and perspectives on your query is now available on mobile.
Our Perspectives filter is now available on the mobile web and Google search app (in US/English for now) where it might be helpful to hear from other people. It allows you to access videos, photos and articles shared by people on forum sites and social networks. Learn more:… pic.twitter.com/LNZJ5K4flr

The Perspectives filter gives users another way to get the information they need to make an informed decision.
This article looks at the top brands in Google Perspectives, how the search filter helps in delivering timely content, and how to show up in filtered results.
How Results Differ From Standard SERPs
Unlike traditional SERPs, Perspectives combines video, social media articles, articles, Q&A, and forum discussions from selected sources to create a combination of accurate opinions on the topic in question.
Interestingly, after years of debate over whether social signals are harmful, Google is now including video views, comments, and likes in its Perspectives search results.
Many Types Available in Google Perspectives
The following are the types of content searchers will see when switching to the Perspectives filter and how useful each type of content is in fulfilling a query.
YouTube videos
YouTube videos and reviews of products, customers, and brands are frequently featured in Perspectives. Search results often show the views, length, and age of the video, giving users an indication of its popularity, depth, and contemporaneity.
TikTok videos
Although not as often as YouTube, Google mixes TikTok videos, by age and number of views, into the Perspectives results. In one example, Google included a TikTok video from its viral account.
Reddit posts
Reddit offers Perspectives on many Google search queries. Users can quickly see a Reddit post’s age and comment count in most cases, assuming it’s still publicly available.
Quora articles
Articles from Quora, the popular Q&A platform, appear in Perspectives and post years.
StackOverflow Answers
In addition to Reddit and Quora posts, Perspectives displays StackOverflow answers and their age for other technical searches. This can be especially useful if the user needs up-to-date information, as they can select records from three weeks or 13 years ago.
Tweets
Tweets about search can be seen in the filtered results of Perspectives, usually by the age of the Tweet and the number of likes it received.
Instagram posts
Instagram posts, like Tweets, are displayed in Perspectives, as well as the number of likes and Instagram age.
Forum Discussions
Google sometimes provides Perspectives as an archive of queries.
Blog Posts & News Articles
While Google Discover brings the latest news to search users, Google Perspectives brings search results that can use the latest information.
How to Choose in Google Perspectives
Do you want your content to appear in Google Perspectives when someone searches for your business, products, services, and keywords?
- Be sure to publish your content on platforms that will appear in the search results and Perspectives-filter such as YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, and others shown in the example above.
- Aim to include optimized images and videos in most of your social media, news, and more, as they both make for great social media channels and stand out in the Perspectives results.
- Promote content to drive the information that Google Perspectives displays and results, including videos, likes, and comments.
- Consider adding a discussion/discussion forum to your website to generate valuable user-generated content and answer frequently asked questions about your products and services.
As seen in the examples above, Google Perspectives results can last anywhere from a few days to nearly two decades, so you may want to expand your reach in the following ways.
- Make sure your keywords are still the best for traffic and conversions.
- Add optimized images and videos to existing blogs, forum discussions, and other custom content on your website, giving a different perspective on your products or services.
- Edit and optimize existing YouTube videos, descriptions, thumbnails, and features.
- Edit and optimize existing answers on Quora.
To appear in Google Perspectives, create content that is relevant to your audience and manage it like the examples above. Once it’s published, don’t stop working with your content until it’s as good as possible.
