Google’s June update leaves many Pixel users complaining about battery drain and ‘lots’ of bugs

The Pixel 7 (pictured here) and its sibling the 7 Pro aren't the only devices affected by this new batch of bugs. - Google's June update leaves many Pixel users complaining about battery drain and 'lots' of bugs

Stop us if you’ve heard of this. Following the recent monthly update for the Pixel, which was supposed to improve the security of Google’s internal devices and add some new visual features, many users are complaining that their experience has worsened in several important ways as well.

The problems that many unhappy Redditors encountered after launching (later) June 2023 Pixel “display” covers the most important aspects of users such as battery life, connectivity, and heat management, but because the whole system is not for everyone. app seems to be the culprit this time, it’s unlikely that any kind of fix will be implemented until the monthly security update.
Even so, we can’t count on any problem for any user to suddenly leave, especially considering Google’s recent (and not so recent) history of dealing with these issues.

What’s with Google and battery drain?!?

The worst and most annoying thing is (once again) the battery endurance of different Pixel models, ruining the life with unprecedented and unusual speed. None of the energy-saving measures seem to be working for most of the affected people, with daily tasks and daily activities that leave Google-made phones without water before they reach the end of the “equal” cycle. .

One person who is very disappointed with the Pixel 6, for example, says that things have gotten so bad that he needs to turn off his phone twice a day and “keep calling it” to make sure he “doesn’t get the phone by accident”. is something that may not be valid for the beta program.

Another innocent “victim” of the Big G’s incredible carelessness has a laundry list of complaints (new and old), adding Android Auto crashes, frequent Wi-Fi interruptions, overheating caused by Bluetooth (?!), and, of course, life. of a useless battery. to a list of previously unsolved bugs including everything from erratic finger gestures to bad cellular reception, loss of integrated devices, audio issues with calls, and (mostly) overheating.

You can (temporarily) fix one error

Although the two cases described above seem to be isolated and “special” (for some reason), other users with various Pixel devices are reporting strange battery drains on their own, as well. cellular connection with random signal drops, frequent overheating for no apparent reason (other than glitchy software), and complete disappearance of audio functionality.

This last issue can be solved with a little effort, at least according to a few Redditors who have managed to get the feature back after forcing them to disable the Android System Intelligence app and clear the cache. This should allow you to go back to selecting and copying text from, say, web searches as usual, but it’s a bit more complicated…
Of course, if the search giant were to go back to the “regular” update program a little later this month, your July security patches could arrive next week (although an over-the-air delivery in two weeks seems a long way off.

Let’s cross our fingers that we get as many fixes as possible…and as few errors as possible, though that may be easier said than done.
