Hunters, our latest Event begins today and continues through August 23. A new story, more rewards, new challenges, and new games all await you as you pledge your Hunters to one of three new Pacts and unlock special powers that give you new ways to play the Hunt.
Read Patch Notes for Update 1.13 here and Waves of Shadows here.
“Rotjaw, as we call this female bear, contradicts the physiology of any well-known aquatic reptile, or a creature from the “living”. , which the first mammals felt when their ancestors were chased by reptiles.
Unlike other Boss Objectives, Rotjaw is not available in groups. Instead, he patrols his aquatic territories outside, waiting for prey to arrive. Find and defeat him to get a Bounty Token. You deserve it—Rotjaw is one of our most dangerous enemies.
Shadow Waves Live Event – New Pacts
The Tide of Shadows Live Event also comes with new Pacts to pledge your loyalty to. Each Hunter can pledge to the Primal Pact, Smugglers Pact, or Grounded Pact. Each Pact offers unique features that offer new ways to play. You’ll learn more about the stories of each mysterious Covenant with lore to unlock as you play, as well as get your hands on new Weapons and armor. To swear to the Covenant, you must have Pledge Marks.
Sources of Promise Marks

Pact Morals
Pact characters can be found at Pledge Posts just like our Devil Moon event. However, this time you must first pledge your Hunter to the Pledge before the Special Events Special Notice will appear on the Pledge Post. Your Hunter must then give the Pledge Marks they have in exchange for Events Done. You will do this by connecting with Good Behavior. When the interaction is complete, the displayed Pledge Marks will be removed, and the Trait Charm will be removed from the Pledge Post. You can see only the Attributes that match the Pact you selected. This means that what you see on Pledge Posts may differ from what you see in your community.
Burning Character
Burn Characters are a new class of Characters that have unique behaviors based on their class. They can be used once, but if you have the right amount of Pledge Marks saved up, you can return to the Pledge Post to get another one.
Each Pledge has different Pledge Marks (PM) that you can exchange for:
Primal Pact
Instinct Trait (1 PM) – In Darkness, you can sense where enemy Hunters are nearby, with a range of 75 meters.
Relentless Burn Trait (2 PM) – Your Hunter will not lose a Health Chunk when knocked down.
Smugglers Pact
Mariner Trait (1 PM) – Health regeneration increases significantly when in water and increases slowly when raining.
Gunrunner Burn Trait (2 PM) – Removes the Contraband trait from the base weapon, and you’ll get two extra weapons from ammo resupplies.
Grounded Pact
Shadow (1 PM) – Big monsters can’t see you, but they can still hear you. Boss Objectives and Wild Objectives do not have this Characteristic.
Remedy Burn Trait (2 PM) – Using Dark Sight, connect with the Trait to trigger a similar regeneration and chase your team’s Hunters. This has a height of 25 meters.
All Pacts

However, they can also be destroyed in exchange for a few points. When you destroy them, you cause an explosion that deals a small amount of damage to nearby Hunters, as well as a loss of blood.
- Interaction – Get 4 Experience Points. The altar of the Train has been burned.
- Destroy – Get 2 Demon Points. The Ship’s altar explodes, destroying everything nearby.
Train Altars glow red and sound when enemy Hunters or Beetles are nearby, similar to Clue. Their insight also shows that Clue.
