Apple is opening its latest Foster + Partners store in the newly renovated Battersea Power Station, our latest location shows 10 Apple Stores designed by the British studio.
Apple has been working with Foster + Partners since 2014, when the technology company and architecture studio began its ten-year relationship to complete a retail location in Istanbul, Turkey.
Apple describes its first stores as “unseen”, but now it is focusing on renovating and renovating buildings such as its Los Angeles store, the Champs-Élysées store and the historic Rome.
“I think the evolution of Apple’s marketing is very interesting – starting with a very bold statement and stores that look like something else,” said Bill Bergeron Mirsky, global head of sales at Apple, at the opening of Battersea Power Station. store.

Battersea Power Station, UK, 2023
The recently opened Apple store is located inside the newly renovated Battersea Power Station in London, which is the 40th store in the UK for the technology company.
The shop is located on the ground floor of the 1930s Turbine Hall A. The interior is arranged around the original four brick pillars and metal roof supports which have been left exposed.

Mumbai, India, 2023
India’s first Apple Store has a wooden ceiling made from 450,000 hand-crafted materials that form 1,000 triangular ceiling tiles.
The walls of the store are made from stone from Rajasthan and have a fine grain that is meant to express the texture of the Georgette fabric. It was surrounded by two eight-meter-high glass walls that allowed light to flood in twice as high.

Brompton Road, UK, 2022
A 7-metre high beamed ceiling defines Apple’s Brompton Road store in west London. The arched wooden roof reflects the shape and form of the windows at the front of the building.
The studio removed the mezzanine level from the center of the store and incorporated six Castagna stone columns, four Ficus trees and a terrazzo floor made of castor oil resin, combined with recycled glass.

Abu Dhabi, UAE, 2022
The Apple store in Abu Dhabi on Al Maryah Island is built on top of a tower and is surrounded by waterfalls on all four sides.
The podium on which the building is placed is a pyramid made of black granite. The store is accessed via two bridges that extend over the water from the waterfront.

Los Angeles, US, 2021
In Downtown Los Angeles, Foster + Partners worked with Apple to renovate a historic 1920s, baroque revival movie theater designed by American architect Charles Lee in 1927.
Extensive renovations to the previously abandoned theater resulted in the studio restoring its corner tower, terracotta roof, exterior roof, and grand entrance hall with bronze fittings and marble columns.

Istanbul, Turkey, 2021
Two large walls on the side of Apple’s Bagdat Caddesi store in Istanbul. Benefiting from a pillarless room it has two rows with two deep spaces behind it.
The building is set back from the street and appears to be one-story because of its sunken low elevation. Above it was a large roof.

Via Del Corso, Italy, 2021
Another renovation project saw Foster + Partners convert and restore a historic palazzo in Rome, located in the heart of the Italian city.
Palazzo Marignoli was built between 1873 and 1878 and was the residence of the Italian politician Marquis Filippo Marignoli. Foster + Partners wanted to celebrate the building’s history by restoring and showcasing its beauty and history. The handmade ceiling and frescos were restored.

Singapore Apple, Singapore, 2020
Known as Apple’s “most ambitious retail project,” its Marina Bay Sands store in Singapore is a circular glass building surrounded by water and accessed via a 45-foot-tall water walkway.
Inside the store there is an open space that is 30 meters wide under a self-supporting glass and steel dome, which is made from 114 glasses with 10 million pieces of steel that provide structural support.

Bangkok Apple, Thailand, 2020
Called Apple Central World, this Bangkok store is designed around a wooden ceiling and a large ceiling designed to resemble a tree canopy.
The store has a 24.4-meter-wide wooden frame that wears 1,461 slats of European white oak at its center. The column fans are located on the ceiling and connect to the ceiling and extend over the glass surrounding the store, creating a three-meter cantilever above the glaze.

The white concrete roof, which draws Miami’s art houses, above the Apple Aventura store located in the Aventura Mall in the north of Miami.
